The magic of lingerie in plus-size boudoir photography

Recently I talked a bit about what to wear to a plus-size boudoir photo session. Ms. H, who was featured in that post, brought along a variety of non-lingerie items of clothing and looked both casual and classy in her pareo and plaid button-down.

Today I want to show you the approach that many of my other clients prefer: going all out. 😉

Ms. K arrived at her boudoir photography session with three stunning looks, and we took advantage of each for some amazing results.

{A “look” is photographer-speak for a complete outfit.}

It can be a bit difficult for plus-size women to find lingerie that fits, but it’s worth the effort. There’s a list of resources at the bottom of this post that will help you find just the right pieces.

Ms. K’s first look was an emerald green bra and panty set with a garter belt and stockings. We pulled a black tulle skirt from my collection of accessories to highlight the green color for these seated poses.

Since my home is also my studio, it’s easy to change it up. When we walked through the kitchen, Ms. K immediately wanted to try some shots here, so we did! Her baseball jersey says “SRIRACHA”, by the way, which is the best.

Ms. K’s third look was black, lacy, and hot. You can see more of it in the video at the top of the post.seattle boudoir photography with Ms. K

Here’s a list of resources that I send out to clients in pre-session emails that will help you find the perfect pieces for your boudoir session. I highly, highly recommend Hips & Curves, especially for hosiery like stockings.

» Big Gals Lingerie (like a plus-size Fredericks of Hollywood, up to 28)

» Etsy (look for sellers that offer clothing with custom measurements)

» Hips and Curves (classy lingerie and costumes up to 62” hip)

» Simply Be (cute bra and panty sets up to 28)

» Torrid (cute bras, panties, and corsets up to 28)

What do you think? Would you prefer a more casual look with regular clothing or dressed-up look with lingerie at your boudoir session?

xoxo, Lindley
